Temporary project-based opportunity to develop psychoeducational resources 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work with our Travel Psychologist team. This short-term opportunity is ideal for someone who is creative, proactive, and passionate about travel and psychological wellbeing. You will contribute to our mission of providing credible, psychologically informed guidance to travellers around the world.

You will help us to prepare a series of downloadable psychological resources to help travellers to manage travel anxiety, prepare themselves for solo travel, and get the most out of their trip.

Whilst this is a short‑term opportunity, we are committed to supporting you in your onward career development and will offer guidance, feedback, and experience that can strengthen future applications.

Role details

30 hours worked as 2-3 hours per week over a 12-week period from September 2026. Each week feedback and edits will be provided to allow us to develop the resources collaboratively. The hours can be worked flexibly each week around any other commitments you have.

£20 per hour

You will be paid for your work as an independent contractor and will not be employed. You will earn less than £1000 per annum for this project which will mean that you may not need to complete a tax return, unless you have any other self-employed income, but please check HMRC guidance to confirm your own circumstances. Role duties

  • Researching and creating psychologically informed resources
  • Drafting and formatting content for public use
  • Working independently and using initiative
  • Re-drafting following feedback and edits
  • Attending materials‑focused supervision (offered as required)

 

Person specification

Essential

  • BSc Psychology (2:1 or above)
  • Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC)
  • Understanding of core CBT principles and how these can be applied to psychoeducational materials.
  • Evidence of initiative and proactive engagement (e.g., creating psychology materials, community projects, charity work, or developing new ideas in a workplace).
  • Interest in travel and wellbeing.
  • Ability to present information clearly and visually — for example, well‑structured documents, clean layouts, or thoughtful use of headings and formatting.
  • Residing in the United Kingdom (for tax purposes).

Desirable

  • MSc in Psychology
  • Experience using free design tools such as Canva
  • Experience in clinical, health, research, or educational settings
